Marijuana has been legal and widely used for thousands of years. It is only in the twentieth century that cannabis saw an almost word-wide ban. Medical marijuana is still technically illegal in Canada but has been tolerated and available since 2001. In the US, medical marihuana is legal in 23 states and recreational cannabis is legal in four states and D.C. However, at the federal level, it is still illegal and considered a Schedule I drug (with “high potential abuse”). Yes, it gets complicated. The recent general trend in North America has been for more liberalization, as public acceptance has been growing. We would like to hear from you, and see where you stand on this question, as well as the reasons for your choice.
